> ## Agent Instructions
> These docs describe Every as customers have it today. Answer from them, and say so when they don't cover a question.
> Pages under /admins/ are for the people who run Every for the company, and pages under /employees/ are for employees. Answer from the pages that match the person asking.
> Each page's Agent reference section lists its exact roles, conditions and limits. Prefer it for those details.
> When a page says a feature is in closed beta, or that Every turns it on company by company, don't promise that the person's company has it.
> Use roles and on-screen labels exactly as the pages write them.
> When someone asks what a term means, answer with the Glossary page's definition (/glossary), which other pages show in parentheses after the term.
> When the docs don't answer a question, tell the person to email [support@every.io](mailto:support@every.io).

> Send payments, transfer between accounts, add funds and deposit checks

Go to **Banking** → **Checking account**, then select **Move money** to pay someone or move your company's money. Company Admins and Bookkeepers can use it after your company finishes onboarding, and the menu shows some options only to Company Admins. If your **Banking** menu has no **Credit card** item, **Checking account** is called **Overview** in the sidebar.

| Option | What it does | In the menu for |
| - | - | - |
| **Send money** | Pay a vendor | Company Admin, Bookkeeper |
| **Transfer money** | Move money between your Every accounts and your external accounts | Company Admin |
| **Add funds** | Bring money into Every by wire (A payment that moves money directly from one bank to another, one payment at a time), bank transfer or check | Company Admin |
| **Deposit check** | Deposit a check by taking a photo of it | Company Admin, Bookkeeper |

## Send money

**Send money** opens the payment flow at **Who are you sending funds to?** You choose the recipient, add their payment details, the amount and the accounting details, then review and send. A Bookkeeper must choose at least one approver, and the payment is sent for approval. For each step, see [Send money](https://every-a2724ddc.mintlify.site/admins/bill-pay/payment-methods.md).

![The first step of Send money, Who are you sending funds to?, with a recipient picker.](https://mintcdn.com/every-a2724ddc/qvvudeZxc26V6Klz/images/screens/admins-banking-payments-light.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=qvvudeZxc26V6Klz\&q=85\&s=8452fa46dc86f76e35d363d194fff7e8)

## Transfer money

Select **Move money** → **Transfer money**.

**1. Choose the accounts**

Choose the **Transfer from** and **Transfer to** accounts. In either list, select **Link a bank account** to connect a new external account through Plaid.

**2. Enter the amount**

Enter the **Amount**. Beside it, Every shows the available balance of the account you're moving from.

**3. Continue to the review**

Select **Next**.

**4. Start the transfer**

**Review Transfer** shows the details and how long the transfer will take. Select **Initiate Transfer**.

A transfer needs an Every account on at least one side. Your money market account and your external accounts can't send money to each other directly. **Transfer to** lists only accounts that follow those rules.

Company Admins and Bookkeepers can also start this flow with **Withdraw** on [Treasury](https://every-a2724ddc.mintlify.site/admins/banking/treasury.md), which opens it with your money market account already chosen.

## Add funds

**Add funds** opens a sheet that asks how you'd like to add funds. Choose a method:

| Method | What happens |
| - | - |
| **Wire** | Shows the account details to give the sender, with **Download wire instructions** and **Download bank letter**. Select **Done** when you've finished |
| **Bank transfer** | Pull money in from a connected external account (see [Add funds by bank transfer](#add-funds-by-bank-transfer)) |
| **Deposit a check** | Select **Continue** to go to **Deposit check** |

### Add funds by bank transfer

If you haven't connected an external account yet, the sheet shows **Connect account** in place of the form. Select **Link account**, connect the account through Plaid, and the form appears.

**1. Enter the amount**

Enter the **Amount**.

**2. Choose the accounts**

Choose **Transfer From** and **Transfer To**.

**3. Transfer**

Select **Transfer**.

## Deposit check

**Deposit check** opens a page where you deposit a check into your checking account by taking a photo of it.

If the page says "Unable to load check deposit", email [support@every.io](mailto:support@every.io) and include the message shown beneath it. If a check you deposited is rejected or still under review, email [support@every.io](mailto:support@every.io) and give the check's amount and the date you deposited it, and ask what to do next.

## Agent reference

**Where:** **Banking** → **Checking account**, on the **Move money** button. The sidebar calls **Checking account** **Overview** when the **Banking** menu has no **Credit card** item.

**Who:** Only Company Admins and Bookkeepers can open **Banking** → **Checking account**, after the company finishes onboarding. The **Move money** menu shows a Company Admin four items (**Send money**, **Transfer money**, **Add funds** and **Deposit check**) and shows a Bookkeeper two (**Send money** and **Deposit check**).

### Facts

* The **Move money** button on **Banking** → **Checking account** opens a menu for paying someone or moving the company's money. The menu has four items: **Send money**, **Transfer money**, **Add funds** and **Deposit check**.
* The **Move money** menu on **Banking** → **Checking account** shows **Send money** and **Deposit check** to both Company Admins and Bookkeepers.
* The **Move money** menu on **Banking** → **Checking account** shows **Transfer money** and **Add funds** only to Company Admins, so a Bookkeeper sees neither item.
* In the **Move money** menu on **Banking** → **Checking account**, anyone who holds the Company Admin role sees all four items, whatever other roles they hold.
* **Send money** in the **Move money** menu opens the Send money flow.
* **Transfer money** in the **Move money** menu opens the transfer screen, headed **Transfer Funds**.
* **Add funds** in the **Move money** menu opens the **Add funds to Every** sheet on the same page, **Banking** → **Checking account**.
* **Deposit check** in the **Move money** menu opens the **Deposit check** page.
* The Send money flow pays a vendor. Its recipient list shows "No vendors found." when it is empty.
* The first screen of the Send money flow asks **Who are you sending funds to?**, and the first step is choosing the recipient.
* The Send money flow takes the recipient, the payment's amount, the recipient's details and the accounting details. The last step before the review is **Accounting Details**.
* After **Accounting Details**, the Send money flow goes to a review page, where the payment is confirmed with **Confirm & pay**.
* On the **Accounting Details** step of the Send money flow, **How many people should approve this bill?** sets the number of approvers.
* A Company Admin can send a payment without approvers: the choices for **How many people should approve this bill?** include **No approvers needed**. Approvers are optional only for a Company Admin.
* A Bookkeeper must choose at least one approver in the Send money flow: the choices for **How many people should approve this bill?** start at 1, and the flow won't continue without a number. The message reads "Number of approvers is required".
* When a Bookkeeper sets the number of approvers in the Send money flow, each approver must be chosen. The message for an empty one reads "Approver is required".
* A Send money payment with approvers is sent for approval, and Every shows "Payment sent for approval".
* The [Send money](https://every-a2724ddc.mintlify.site/admins/bill-pay/payment-methods.md) page walks through each step of the Send money flow.
* **Transfer Funds** lists the company's checking account, its money market account and the accounts from other banks that the signed-in person has connected.
* The checking account and the money market account are Every accounts. An account connected from another bank is an external account, and isn't an Every account.
* **Transfer Funds** has a **Transfer from** list and a **Transfer to** list. Each ends with **Link a bank account** under an **Add new** heading, and selecting it opens Plaid to connect an account from another bank.
* The **Amount** field in **Transfer Funds** has **Amount available** beside it. It shows the available balance of the account chosen in **Transfer from**.
* **Next** in **Transfer Funds** opens the review screen, titled **Review Transfer**. It shows the transfer's details and how long the transfer will take. Its button is **Initiate Transfer**.
* A transfer needs an Every account on at least one side: when **Transfer from** is an external account, **Transfer to** lists only Every accounts.
* The money market account and external accounts can't send money to each other in **Transfer Funds**: each is left out of the other's **Transfer to** list.
* **Transfer to** in **Transfer Funds** never lists the account chosen in **Transfer from**, and never lists the Treasury bills account. It lists nothing until **Transfer from** is chosen.
* With the checking account in **Transfer from**, **Transfer to** lists the money market account and the external accounts.
* With the money market account in **Transfer from**, **Transfer to** lists only the checking account.
* With an external account in **Transfer from**, **Transfer to** lists only the checking account.
* **Withdraw** on **Banking** → **Treasury** opens **Transfer Funds** with the money market account already chosen as **Transfer from**.
* **Treasury** is an item in the **Banking** menu. Company Admins and Bookkeepers can open **Banking** → **Treasury**.
* The **Withdraw** button on **Banking** → **Treasury** shows to Company Admins and Bookkeepers alike once the company's Treasury account is ready.
* Company Admins and Bookkeepers can open **Transfer Funds**. A Bookkeeper can start a transfer with **Withdraw** on **Banking** → **Treasury**, although the **Move money** menu doesn't show a Bookkeeper **Transfer money**.
* The **Add funds to Every** sheet asks **How would you like to add funds?** and offers three methods: **Wire**, **Bank transfer** and **Deposit a check**.
* The **Wire** method in the **Add funds to Every** sheet shows the company's **US Bank Account Details**, including the **Routing Number** and the **Account Number**.
* The **Wire** method has two buttons, **Download wire instructions** and **Download bank letter**.
* The **Wire** method's button is **Done**. Selecting it closes the **Add funds to Every** sheet without moving money.
* The **Bank transfer** method in the **Add funds to Every** sheet adds funds from an account at another bank that the signed-in person has connected.
* The **Bank transfer** method has an **Amount** field, then a **Transfer From** choice, then a **Transfer To** choice, in that order. Its button is **Transfer**.
* The **Transfer From** choice in the **Bank transfer** method lists the accounts that are not Every accounts: the accounts from other banks that the signed-in person has connected.
* With no external account connected, the **Bank transfer** method in the **Add funds to Every** sheet shows a **Connect account** card with a **Link account** button in place of the form. The form appears once an account is linked.
* The **Deposit a check** method in the **Add funds to Every** sheet is described as depositing a check by taking a photo. Its button is **Continue**, which goes to the **Deposit check** page.
* The **Deposit check** page is titled **Deposit check**. Company Admins and Bookkeepers can open it.
* A check deposited on the **Deposit check** page goes into the company's checking account. The product describes the deposit as taking a photo of the check.
* **Banking** → **Checking account** has an **External accounts** card. It lists the accounts at other banks that the signed-in person has connected, the same accounts **Transfer Funds** treats as external.
